1990’s Quinta da Marinha
Polo returns to Quinta da Marinha, reviving an equestrian tradition that was part of this remarkable place in the 1990s.
On 12 September 2026, players, horses and guests will come together for an intimate 3-on-3 polo exhibition—an afternoon of exhilarating sport, and shared purpose.
AHT Cascais, Therapeutic Riding
At the heart of the event is Associação Hípica Terapêutica (AHT Cascais), where horses help children with disabilities develop balance, mobility, confidence and connection. Since 1989, AHT has been providing therapeutic riding for the local Cascais community.
Guests will have the opportunity to see some of AHT’s remarkable riders and witness the quiet, powerful partnership between horse and human.
The Edge of Wildness at NIHI Sumba
The event also draws inspiration from the Edge of Wildness at NIHI Sumba, where horses run freely between land and sea.
From the historic polo field at Quinta da Marinha to AHT’s therapeutic arena and the wild shores of Sumba, these three worlds are united by one extraordinary animal—and by the belief that horses can awaken courage, freedom and possibility.
